Vacature HR Generalist

We are seeking a proactive, detail-oriented HR Generalist to join my client’s dynamic team. This role is essential in managing a variety of human resource tasks and ensuring smooth HR operations across the organization.

Role Summary

The HR Generalist will be the cornerstone of my client’s HR function, balancing multiple responsibilities ranging from strategic HR initiatives to administrative tasks. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys variety in their work, and is passionate about making an impact on the employee experience.

Key Responsibilities

Employee Relations;

  • Serve as a first point of contact for employee inquiries, ensuring prompt and helpful responses.
  • Support employee engagement initiatives, team-building activities, and organizational events.
  • Assist in resolving employee issues and escalating matters to leadership when necessary.
  • Manage the sickness cases together with our arbo doctor.
  • Coach and advice employees.

Recruitment and Onboarding;

  • Coordinate the end-to-end recruitment process, including creating job descriptions, finding and liaising the right recruitment agencies, scheduling interviews, and liaising with hiring managers.
  • Oversee and improve our onboarding programs to ensure a seamless experience for new employees, including orientation sessions and documentation.

 Learning and Development;

  • Coordinate training sessions, workshops, and learning opportunities to support employee growth.
  • Maintain training records and feedback to refine development programs.

HR Administration;

  • Manage and maintain employee records, contracts, and HR databases to ensure compliance and accuracy.
  • Process the Dutch and international payroll data (outsourced), support with invoicing and collaborate with finance for timely salary disbursements.
  • Administer employee benefits programs, including enrollments, renewals, and inquiries.
  • Prepare HR reports, track key HR metrics, and support audits as needed.

Policy and Compliance;

  • Ensure adherence to company policies and local labor laws.
  • Assist in the creation and updating of HR policies, procedures, and employee handbooks.
  • Manage disciplinary processes, including documentation and procedural guidance.

Other tasks;

  • Coordinate  monthly All Hands meetings
  • Support cross-departmental activities requiring HR input, including IT setup for new hires and facilities management.
  • Manage vendor relationships related to HR services, such as recruitment agencies or benefits providers.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Bachelor’s / Master’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in a similar HR generalist or administrative role.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills; ability to manage competing priorities.
  • Proficiency in HR software (e.g., HiBob, NMBRS, or similar) and MS Office Suite.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a customer-focused mindset.
  • Familiarity with labor laws and compliance requirements in the Netherlands.
  • A proactive, resourceful approach to problem-solving and continuous improvement.
