My client drives the digital transformation in their industry. An industry with an enormous impact on global economy and sustainability! As an interim product researcher, you will be the product catalyst by providing data-driven insights that informs and steers their product portfolio.

Responsibilities and Duties:

The first phases of the product pipeline are: Discovery, Ideation & Business case. Completing these phases gives my client the details required to decide if we should or should not continue to the next phase, i.e. Proof of Concept.

The following activities are part of the of Discovery, Ideation & Business case phases, and executed by the product researcher:

  • Discovery
    • User Research & Understanding: gather insights (e.g. deskresearch, interviews, surveys., etc.) to understand user needs, pain points, and behaviors.
    • Market Research & Analysis: analyze competitors (SWOT), size of the opportunity and research market trends
  • Ideation
    • Product Ideation & Prioritization: Brainstorm ideas, concepts and products, and prioritize based on user needs, market potential, and business goals.
  • Business case
    • Define the business case for the product, to demonstrate the value of it, qualitatively and quantitatively; I.e. what value will is add for the industry and users, as well as what is the potential for the company.


  • Minimum 5-8 years of experience as a product researcher or similar role in a digital product development environment.
  • Experience working in logistics / container shipping
  • Proven track record of successfully “owning” the end-to-end product lifecyle, i.e. from opportunity to market.
  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to collect, analyze and synthesize data and metrics and the ability to translate findings into ideas/actionable product requirements that address user paint points/needs and provide a clear value proposition.
  • Experienced in methodologies such as “Design thinking” and “Business model canvas”
  • Exceptional communication and collaboration skills to effectively bridge the gap between business stakeholders, development teams, and users.
  • Solid understanding of the digital product landscape and emerging trends.
  • Strong understanding of product monetization strategies.
  • Technical Acumen: understanding of basic technical concepts and development processes will be beneficial.

You have to live in The Netherlands. My client does not offer relocation or immigration services (VISA). You must be eligible to work in the Netherlands.
